Thread Count for Sheets

Thread Count-The number of threads running vertical and horizontal in a one inch square of fabric. The higher the thread count the thinner the tread and therefore more threads per square inch. The higher number of threads give the fabric a softer  texture and makes it more pill resistant. Therefore expect to pay more for sheets with a higher thread count. Thread counts sold in most stores go from about 180-400.  180-220 is average. 230-280 higher. 300-400 highest.  Look at price, quality and the various blends    Everyone has a different preference. Find the best  sheet that fits you, your bed, and  your budget!

Down Comforter- When shopping for a Down Comforter look for the thread count, fill power and baffle design.

Thread count- Like sheets thread count pertains  to the number of threads in a one square inch. The higher the thread count the closer the thread are togethar preventing  leakage of the Down.

Fill Power- The space one ounce of down occupies in cubic inches. The higher the count, the better the quality. 600+ is good, 800+ is better and 800+ is best. The higher the count the fluffier your comforter will be.

Baffle- The type of sewing construction that is used to secure the Down   remains uniform within the walls of the comforter. They are various types of baffling.
